Getting Married in Hawaii : Tips for your Wedding Day!

As a Honolulu, Maui, Kauai, and Destination Wedding photographer in Honolulu, Maui and Kauai I see a large variety of locations and venues to get married at in Hawaii. You can have huge stylish wedding at one of our many giant hotel ballrooms or an outdoor affair at Kualoa Ranch, but if you want something unique and personal I recommend other alternatives . My favorite locations have always been private vacation rentals over big large hotels. It ends up being more intimate for your wedding guests and the bride and groom tend to have a more relaxed stress free day. The variety of private estates available with their own unique personalities is will give you the option to customize your wedding day with all the comforts of home instead of a poorly lit hotel room. Natural light is usually plentiful at private estates that will create beautiful drama to your wedding portraits. It also gives creative freedom of more location options than just a single room. Your bridal portraits only happen once so why not make it as unique as you!
Christina + Jesse decided on a beach side Makaha estate on the west side of the island of O'ahu. The windward side of Oahu is very different than the rest of the island. It tends to lean drier for weather and even the foliage is more similar to Arizona plants. Don't worry there is still plenty of swaying palm trees and crystal blue waters and since this area is drier it is more likely that you will not get rain on your wedding day. This fantastic couple even got a chance to jump in the water for their first moments as husband and wife!
